Specializing in mechatronics, BRP Megatech supplies essential advanced technology for BRP’s recreational vehicles while playing a key role in its transition to sustainable transportation.
Our team invests in research and development in order to manufacture the most innovative electronic and mechatronic products on the market. Concretely, it produces modules used in vehicles such as ATVs, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, and side-by-side vehicles. It brings together more than 290 employees specializing in electronics, mechanics, and software engineering, working together within highly efficient multidisciplinary teams.
BRP Megatech is a subsidiary of BRP, a leader in the world of powersports products, propulsion systems and boats. Whether it’s on water, snow, asphalt or dirt, BRP reinvents ways of getting around based on 80 years of ingenuity.
Our history
Founded in 1988 by Yvan Lafontaine and Larry St-Pierre, Mégatech Électro had humble beginnings in the small town of Grand-Mère, now a district of Shawinigan. Here, the team manufactured wiring and dashboards for various watercrafts.
The founders quickly attracted talented employees who took the company’s success to heart. At Mégatech Électro, there was a true feeling of being part of something and everyone—employees and managers—rolled up their sleeves to create innovative products. Its boldness, agility, and ability to meet the needs of its clients allowed the company to carve out a prominent place for itself in the industry.
Acquired several times over the years, Mégatech Électro diversified its activities with new manufacturing sites and the opening of a cutting-edge research and development centre. In the fall of 2022, following its acquisition by BRP, the subsidiary BRP Megatech was launched, proudly sporting a name inspired by the company’s origins.
